| 1982 Young Sun 35
David Mackenzie has owned Odyssey since 2001 when he spent about a year renovating and equipping her.
Last year, he sailed her to Waikiki and back, single handed, 32 days to get to Waikiki, and 31 days to get home, a total of about 6,700 miles.
It was a lot of fun and a hell of a lot of hard work!! That applies to both the reno, and the trip!! Seriously though it was a wonderful trip; it's one of those things that one day, when I'm 80 years old, I will never have to look back and say, "I wish I'd done that". Forgive the correction but It's Odyssey. Young Sun was the manufacturer in Taiwan, built in the same yards as the Hans Christian, same designer, Robert Perry. Called a Young Sun 35, She is 35' on deck, but overall 40', with the bowsprit.
