Several new members joined us on this years cruise to the Gulf and san Juan Islands that proved to be an eventful cruise. Several have not sent me any of their pictures so I can include them.
The first day of the cruise was in Telegraph Harbour on Thetis Island and it also happened to be the Silver wedding anniversary of Sue and Garrard Mackenzie
.... so it was a "Black Tie " affair on the dock to celebrate
The pretty party guests
The not so Pretty !!!
Penny with her new sister "Daisy" who is already very " boat savvy"
A pretty serious game of Volleyball oat Telegraph Harbour
As usual lots of great food
The newly renovated "Poets Cove" at Bedwell Harbour on Pender Island
It always pays to keep a good lookout !!!
Behind You !!!
A very busy Friday Harbour Customs Dock. Unfortunately Angie, Harald found if your not a Canadian citizen they will not let you in !!
Alan at Friday Harbour -a nice harbour and town but very busy on Independence day
The entrance to Fisherman's Bay on Lopez Island - a minus tide did not help nd there was only about 6 feet of water under us.
The Bay was pretty packed and everyone was waiting for the big Fireworks display - it lasted 5 minutes - the grass caught fire !!!.
Ian had an engine fail to start and in a crowded mooring with a brisk wind, that is a problem !! eventually he got safely anchored and could sort it out. Thanks also to Etianne for helping others get rafted safely
Ian resting after all the exertion
(we always have to have one of these !!) )
Fisherman's Bay village on Independence day - a very busy parade. we rented bikes and rode around the island
The morning we left, a sea plane landed and Taxied through the maze of boats - look closely at Ian's face - he came up from below and found this coming at him !!
At Rosario Resort (that we also visited last year) there was a nest of Robins under the eves of one of the buildings - the next day Mum gave them lesson #1 - "Basic Flying "
The last day on Sucia Island - always a joy to go to and we were not disappointed - a great end to a week of good boating - good food - and good friends - that's cruising.
