Also note the sailboat close to the beach !! This was the scene faced by boaters one morning during a particular low tide inside Rebecca Spit on Quadra Island - there was a high tide the previous evening of over 12 ft and a low tide of only 1.5 ft the following morning. It seems that someone did not check the depth when they anchored and how much there would be underneath them at Low Tide later. It is an expensive way to find out !!! |
