Pleasure Craft Operators Card

(PCOC)

 

Anyone operating any type of recreational powered watercraft is legally required to have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) by September 2009, which will be good-for-life. It is a federal requirement and applies to all provinces. Fines will be applied for non-compliance. This requirement includes powerboat owners, sail boat owners with an auxiliary engine, dinghy owners and jet ski owners and also applies to friends using your boat or jet ski.

Capilano Squadron’s one-day ‘Boat Pro’ course is a highly acclaimed seminar and will prepare you for the PCOC examination at the end of the day. It is accredited by the Canadian Coast Guard. The course includes:

Crossing the Border? This Canadian Power and Sail Squadron ‘Boat Pro’ course is the only one for your PCOC which is recognized and approved by the US National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

Upon successful completion of the course you will also receive a one-year complimentary Associate Membership to CPS with access to member benefits. These include potential boat and home insurance savings, hotel and car rental savings, savings on purchase of boating/nautical equipment and receipt of Canadian Yachting Magazine.
